Obituary for Donald A. Riese

Donald A. Riese, 81, of Sheboygan (formerly of Arkdale), passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Waterford in Plymouth.
Donald A. Riese was born August 18, 1938 in the town of Big Flats, Arkdale, WI, the son of Herman Otto and Martha (nee Martin) Riese, where Donald grew up on the family farm. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Donald moved to Colorado Springs, CO from Dubuque, IA in 1973. Donald and his wife Elizabeth Ann moved to Littleton, CO in 1981. He was an automotive parts salesman until his retirement. Don’s interests included traveling, automobiles, woodworking, fishing, hunting, genealogy, music and dancing.
Survivors include his special friend Hilde Koepke of Sheboygan, his children: Donald Mark Riese of CO, Dawn (Jeff) Simpson of TX and Marcy (Brian) Simmons of CO and his step-children: Joseph W Raymond of LA and Molly (John) Grenier of CO. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Jeramie (Crystal), Jacob, Michael, Steven, Ryan and Alexandra; great- grandchildren: Joseph, Ryan, Sean, Gabriel, Scott, Andrew and Kylee; sister-in-law Norma Riese of Friendship, WI, nieces and nephews and their families: Gary Riese, Susan Hazelwood, Kenneth and Roger Solkey, Sharon Guzman, Barry, Lowell and Herman Riese and Nyla Peterson, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann Lowery-Riese, his parents, and his siblings: Hilda (Clyde) Whitney, Ida (Frank) Solkey, Herman (Iva May) Riese, Elmer (Elaine) Riese and Carl (Lois) Riese.
According to Donald’s wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at Big Flats Cemetery in Adams County.
Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center and Roseberry’s Funeral Home and Crematory are assisting the family.
The family would like to thank the staffs of the Waterford in Plymouth and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
