Joyce E.
Behnke
Jul 30, 1941 — Nov 4, 2026
Sy Lake
Joyce E. Behnke, 85, of Sy Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was deeply loved by so many, and in return, she shared her love generously with everyone she met. Her warm smile, quick wit, caring heart, and bright spirit brought comfort and joy to countless lives.
Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her family and friends. She could often be found reading a book, baking cakes, preparing a favorite meal for those she loved, or enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the lake she cherished.
Her kind and social nature continued to shine throughout her years at the nursing home, where she enjoyed playing cards, games, and spending time with friends. Truly a social butterfly who had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued. Even in the simplest moments, she was often focused on caring for those around her.
If you happened to be in her presence and had a sour mood, you were likely invited to sit beside her in her "sunshine chair." Where you felt the sun and its warmth just like her. It was more than just a place to sit. Like the chair itself, she brought warmth and light wherever she went, making everyone around her feel welcome, valued, and loved.
She also had a special love for crafting and sewing. With patience and creativity, she spent countless hours making clothing for her grandchildren when they were young, creating cherished memories and handmade treasures that reflected her love for her family.
She was a smart and spirited woman, with just a little bit of luck always on her side. Whether around the kitchen table or at a card game, she seemed to have every trick up her sleeve, especially when it came to Canasta. One of her greatest joys was teaching her children and grandchildren how to play cards, continuing a family tradition she fondly remembered learning from her own parents.
Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught, the traditions she shared, the love she gave so freely, and the countless lives she touched. She will be remembered with great affection and missed beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Violet Korff, and sister Bernice Haas. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Sr., children Kenneth Jr. (Lori) Behnke and Jacquelyn (Stephen) Burmesch, she is further survived by nine grandchildren Felicia (Brian) Behnke Shaw, Natasha Behnke, Benjamin (Ryan) Rieth, Elizabeth (Brian) Loose, Curtis Burmesch, Amalia Burmesch, Lillyan Burmesch, Mileana Burmesch, ElizaJane Burmesch, many great grandchildren, and special friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Complete Care, Manitowoc for providing great care and love, and the Staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Two Rivers.
All services will be private.
