John R. Sukowaty, 71, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at St. Nicholas Hospital. He was born on November 30, 1954, in Sheboygan, to the late Herbert and Catherine (Leonhard) Sukowaty.
On May 6, 1978, he married Kathy Wright in Sheboygan. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose family meant everything to him.
In John's working years he was a truck driver and truly loved being in a semi. John enjoyed being outdoors, family camping trips, snowmobile trips, and motorcycle rides with his wife.
John's favorite thing was anything with wood. From cutting down trees to making firewood to building almost anything. In his retirement he loved his sawmill to make his own lumber and selling crafting wood. There wasn't anything John couldn't fix or build, he was always up to any challenge. His pride and joy was his family and especially time with his grandkids.
John is survived by his wife Kathy Sukowaty; children, John W (Dee) Sukowaty, Keith (Becky) Sukowaty, Lauren (Zan) Leppi and Macaela (Mark) Keuffer; eight grandchildren, Dylan, Elliot, Brooklyn, Ethan, Max, Reilly, Carter and Eli; one great grandchild; Dominic. Bonus Grandchildren Tylar, Brianna, Carter and Connor. Sisters, Jean (Mike) Reimer, Gerette Sukowaty and Lynette (Joe) Mierzejewski; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Sukowaty.
