Arwin Albert Herzog, age 95, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026. A lifelong resident of Howards Grove, he was born on December 18, 1930, the son of the late Arwin and Eleanora (Oetling) Herzog. He attended Millersville Grade School and was a 1949 graduate of Howards Grove High School.

On May 20, 1950, Arwin married his high school sweetheart, Marlyn Kolberg at Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove. They were richly blessed with 76 years of life together and raised five children.

Arwin was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove, where he had served many years on the Finance Committee, an usher and greeter, caretaker of the Church building, grounds, and cemetery for over 24 years. Arwin was a charter member of the Howards Grove Lions Club, and a former member of the Howards Grove Fire Department. He was employed at the Kohler Company over 43 years, retiring from the Generator Division in 1992, and was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club.

Arwin spent a lot of time with his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was always there for his family, whenever they needed his advice, and helping them with many projects. A dedicated Dad and Grandfather, Arwin attended many family activities and sporting events, cheering for his children and grandchildren. An avid gardener, Arwin was known for growing a big vegetable garden and sharing it with family and friends. Whenever there was a celebration, he was asked to bring some of those special dill pickles along. His yard was always kept well groomed. He enjoyed dancing to his son’s Orchestra, playing cards, wood-working, reading, going to Packer’s game, fishing, golfing, bowling and the Senior Dartball League. Arwin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Surviving Arwin is his wife, Marlyn, 3 sons: Arwin (Laura), Douglas (Jane), and Steven; two daughters: Mary (Gary) Dekker and Sharon White; 9 grandchildren: Kendall, Erica, Olivia, Madelyn, David (Lara), Anna (Michael), Daniel (Lily), Jonathan (Briana), and Stephanie; 13 great-grandchildren: Nyah, Everett, Malia, Keira, Hazel, Charlie, Zayvion, Josie, Avery, Elsie, Blake, Bennett, and Adeline. He is further survived by his siblings Eugene (Dorothy), Donald (Lois), and Shirley; his brother-in-law Harvey, his sister-in-law Mary Lou, as well as other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Arwin is preceded in death by his siblings Robert, Carl, Marion, Jane, Elaine and Karen.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Pine Haven Christian Communities for their excellent care of Arwin and his family. Their warmth and compassion will not be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held at Zimmer Westview Funeral Home, W2132 Garton Rd, Sheboygan, on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Noah Fremer officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler immediately following services.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove and Pine Haven Christian Communities in Sheboygan Falls.
