Marvin Herbert Block, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. He was born in Sheboygan on September 14, 1953 to the late Herbert and Patricia (Buhke) Block. He earned his associate's degree at Lakeshore Technical College. Marvin met Martha Neils at a drag race in the Summer of 1975, and Marvin went home that evening telling his mom, “I met the girl I’m going to marry!” On May 8, 1976, they were united in marriage in their hometown of Sheboygan. Together they raised three children: Christine, Joseph and James.

Marvin was a hard worker all his life. He worked as a machinist in and around the Sheboygan area, retiring from Manitowoc Tool and Machine. He loved spending time with his family. He loved to fish with his son Jimmy. The boat size increased over the years, and the newest one was truly the envy of the neighborhood with all its bells and whistles. Marvin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Martha, and their children: Christine, Joseph and James Block; and his sisters: Nancy Johnson and Cindy (Jerry) Ziegelbauer.

In addition to his parents, Marvin is preceded in death by his nephew Michael Gore.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, especially Dr. Nicholas Gustafson, for the excellent care they showed to Marvin and his family. Their warmth and compassion will not be forgotten.

A memorial service honoring Marvin’s life will take place at Zimmer Westview Funeral Home, W2132 Garton Rd, Sheboygan, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic.
