Karen Hofschild

Karen L. Hofschild, 78, of Sheboygan went peacefully to her heavenly home while surrounded by her immediate family on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022.
Karen was born on November 1st, 1943, in Plymouth, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Harold and Florence (Cudworth) Kind.

On February 20th, 1965, she was united in marriage to Roger Hofschild in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

Karen was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan where she served on Stephen Ministries and the Altar Guild for many years.

The early portion of her working life was as a school secretary at Trinity Lutheran School. Later she served as an aide at the Early Learning Center with Sheboygan School District.

Karen was a master gardener and enjoyed spending countless hours beautifying her home and yard. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed sewing, and her creative spirit was evident in her arts and crafts projects. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and mahjong with her family and girlfriends, and was known to make chocolate chip cookies that were hard to resist. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, vacationing with them and watching all their sporting events.

Karen is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Chris (Annette), Jodi, and Cory Hofschild; grandchildren, Kelly (Josh) Ahrens, Jacob Hofschild, and McKenna Hofschild; great-grandchild, Tate Ahrens; sister, Marlis Neher; brother, Ric (Carol) Kind; sisters-in-law, Sue Hofschild and Nancy Hofschild; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Harold Kind; in-laws, Blanche and Leeland Hofschild; brothers-in-law, Stanley, Howard, and Bruce Hofschild; sister-in-law, Lana Kind; and other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held for Karen at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church (824 Wisconsin Ave. Sheboygan, WI 53081) with Pastor Timothy Mech officiating. A public visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the church. Karen’s service will be livestreamed and available to view at a later date from her obituary page at www.zimmerfuneralhome.com.

Karen and her family would like to thank Pastors Mech, Berg, and Krystowiak at Trinity Lutheran Church for their frequent home visits and spiritual support during Karen’s illness. Additional thanks to the Aurora Home Hospice Team for their extraordinary care.

Memorial donations may be directed to Sheboygan Lutheran High School, Trinity Lutheran Church, Bookworm Gardens, and the Alzheimer’s Association - Wisconsin Chapter.

Although she was short in stature, she was a giant with her sweetness, kindness, and love. To God Be the Glory.
