Joyce Doebert

April 12, 1949 — February 12, 2022

Howards Grove

Joyce A. Doebert, 72, of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning February 12, 2022, with her family at her side.

Joyce was born on April 12, 1949, to Arno and Dorothy (Toedter) Winkel in rural Cleveland, WI.  She graduated from Kiel High School in 1967.

In 1968, Joyce met Gerald Doebert and were wed in 1970, going on to have two children, Lisa and Jeff, living in the Town of Sheboygan. After Jerry’s retirement, the two built their home in Howards Grove.

While Joyce began starting a family, she worked various jobs including cleaning houses for realtors before putting them on the market. Here Joyce would create her famous standard of clean that she carried through her whole life to her own house and cars over the years. Joyce worked at many local companies including Bemis, Richardson’s Furniture and Johnsonville where she retired from in 2016. Friends, Family and neighbors were all blessed with Johnsonville meat products as she shared her allotment from the company store. She always joked with her co-workers and supervisors that she was going to find where they were hiding the beer for the beer brats. It was her quest to find all the beer at Johnsonville and start tapping kegs.

Joyce was always passionate about animals since being a young girl raised on a farm. She always enjoyed the company of dogs in her home. She also enjoyed bird watching and identifying different species that visited her feeders. One of her favorite times every year was going to the Sheboygan County Fair. She also was very passionate about the Sheboygan County 4-H Club and enjoyed seeing crafts and projects that they made. No trip to the fair was complete without seeing the 4-H building a couple times.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents and in-laws Marlin and Dorothy Doebert and a brother-in-law Walter Peavley. She is survived by her husband Jerry; daughter Lisa (Ryan) Schneider; son Jeff (Michelle) Doebert; sisters, Marilou Peavley of Scottsdale AZ, Darlene (Merlin) Zorn of Elkhart Lake, Beverly (Robert) Koeppen of Howards Grove, Rosalie Miller of Sheboygan, Linda Lou (Glenn) Berg of Sheboygan and brother DeLyle (Susan) Winkel of Washington, IA; a brother-in-law Larry (Judy) Doebert and a sister-in-law Sharon (Jerry) Schuler.

She is further survived by her grandchildren, Sam, Gabbie, Levi, Jadeyn, Addisyn and Meghan.
