John B. Tryba

December 8, 1945 ~ January 21, 2022 (age 76)

Obituary

John B. Tryba, 76, passed away at his home on January 21, 2022.  John was the youngest of ten children born on December 8, 1945, at home, on the family farm in the Town of Reid to the late Ben and Johanna (Dallman) Tryba.

He was employed at Marathon Electric in Wausau and Beyreis Fur Foods in Schofield, prior to moving to Sheboygan. He retired in 2008 from Kohler Company where he had worked in the foundry for more than 40 years.

On January 23, 1965, he was united in marriage to Linda (Krause). Together they raised four children, Mike (Debby) Tryba, Tammy (Rick) Pautz, Tom (Tammy) Tryba, and Jackie Keil (Fiancée Ken Rausch).

In his earlier years you could find John in the garage helping his buddies out with their vehicles and later at the bar in his basement enjoying some cold ones with them and providing entertainment playing the drums while his friend Dave Grulkowski played his guitar and sang. He was definitely a Mr. Fix it for anyone that needed something fixed. He enjoyed racing whether it was racing his #42 Hobby Stock on the dirt track in Plymouth (in which he won Rookie of the year and numerous trophies thereafter), watching and pitting for his good friend Wayne (Weiner) Goetsch or watching his favorite NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. Anyone who knew John knew that he was a big fan of Earnhardt’s, from his clothing and memorabilia to the decals on his truck which was how anyone knew he was enjoying a cold MGD and shaking dice with his good friends at his favorite bars. He was quite the pool player, winning many trophies and plaques. He was known for playing his Stumpf Fiddle which he always had in his truck, ready for the request to play it. He also enjoyed his Harley rides with his friends.

Along with his children and ex-wife, he is survived by his longtime girlfriend Heidi Kussard (who took good care of our dad over the years). He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, his only surviving sibling Daniel (Alvira) Tryba and his little buddy Cocoa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Rachel; brothers Joseph, Anthony, Edward; and his sisters, Mattie, Lucille, Delores, Grace, and Johanna.

Per his wishes no funeral services will be held. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bettag and his staff for their patience and care over the last six months.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sheboygan Cancer Foundation.
