Joan Reinemann

July 26, 1932 — February 22, 2021

Joan Reinemann, 88, of Sheboygan went to eternal rest on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Sheboygan Senior Community.  She was born on July 26, 1932, the oldest of 5 children.  Her siblings, Rita, Leonard, William (Bill), Margaret and her parents, Joseph and Anna (Urban) Hug always called her JoAnn.  Joan lived in Lamartine on her Mother's family farm until 1936.  Her family eventually moved to Kohler, where she spent her childhood and graduated from High School in 1950.  She earned a teaching degree from Sheboygan County Normal School and then taught at Prange Elementary School in rural Sheboygan until 1956.

Joan married Dr. John Reinemann on June 16, 1956.  They lived in Rockford, IL for 1 year while John completed an internship.  They then spent 3 years in Frankfurt, Germany where John served in the military.  There they enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and added to their family.

In 1963, following a pediatric residency in Milwaukee, the Reinemann family moved to Sheboygan where John took a position with the Sheboygan Clinic.  Joan raised 5 children and always felt blessed to be a stay-at-home Mom. Among her many volunteer jobs, she was involved with the Sheboygan County Medical Auxiliary, and Meals on Wheels.  She was also a Girl Scout Leader and taught CCD at St Dominic Parish.

Upon retirement in 1989, John and Joan moved to Ruskin, FL where they lived, and also enjoyed many traveling adventures. In 2003 they moved back to Sheboygan where they spent their remaining years.

Joan's life was a humble expression of her deep faith, and she was devoted wife and mother.

Joan is survived by her five children: Thomas (Sally) Reinemann, Douglas (Mary Kay) Reinemann, Mary (Terry) Rindahl, Peter (Judy) Reinemann and Paul (Amy) Reinemann, fourteen grandchildren: Elizabeth (Brandon) Schmitz, Lori (Alex) Johnson, Amy and Timothy Rindahl, Joseph and Rosie  Reinemann, Elise (David) Marthe,  Sarah (Hendrik) Spaepen, Mary (Corey) Hebel, Emma, Louis, Isaac, Katie, and Ella Reinemann, nine great-grandchildren, sister Margaret (Jerry) Huss, brother Bill (Janie) Hug, sister-in-law Judith Vreeke, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, brother Leonard (Lynn) Hug, sister Rita (Jim) Rehm and three brothers-in-law Glenn (Joyce) Reinemann, Floyd (Pat) Reinemann and Roger (Karen) Reinemann.
