Violet Usadel

Violet L. Usadel, 100, of Howards Grove, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Harvest Home. Violet was born on May 10, 1916, in Haven, to the late Harry and Hilda (Schumacher) Erbstoeszer. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mosel. Violet attended Haven Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1934. She then graduated from Badger Academy of Beauty Culture in Milwaukee and worked at several local beauty salons in Sheboygan, Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls.
On January 18, 1936, she married Harold R. Usadel at the Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Sheboygan, with Rev. Karl Schulz officiating. Harold preceded her in death on August 27, 1985.
Violet was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, the Howards Grove Senior Center and a former member of the Sheboygan Bowling League. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family.
Survivors include her children, JoAnn (Usadel) Lutz, Bayside, Thomas (Darlene Nack) Usadel, Kohler, Lynne (Usadel) Kelly, Howards Grove, Rita (Dale) Milbrath, Howards Grove and Faye (Larry) Milbrath, Howards Grove; fourteen grandchildren, Beth (Jerry) Guy, Charlotte, North Carolina, Greg (Julie) Lutz, Mequon, Amy (Tim) Hagerty, Mequon, Dean (Cindy) Usadel, Sheboygan, Pam (Steve) Bordeau, Sheboygan, Jonathan (Heather) Kelly, Glenbeulah, Nicholas (Julie) Kelly, Waukesha, Michael (Vicky) Milbrath, Howards Grove, Shelli Milbrath, Howards Grove, Darci Milbrath, St. Cloud, Dana (Bryan) Grunewald, Howards Grove, Laura (Justin) Koenig, Howards Grove, Marie (Michael) Schroeder, Plymouth and Thomas (Stacy) Milbrath, Howards Grove; 31 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Blake Usadel, her sister, Helen Larson and her son-in-law, Richard Lutz.
A funeral service for Violet will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove).
