Vicki Kulhanek

August 4, 1962 — September 17, 2017

Vicki Jean (Wangemann) Kulhanek, age 55, passed away from natural causes on Sunday, September 17th, 2017. She was born August 4th, 1962 to Allen and Jeanette (Neumann) Wangemann.
Vicki graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1980. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lakeland College in 1984 and her Master of Arts degree from National Louis University.
The most important people in Vicki's life were her daughters, Nicole and Morgan Kulhanek. She was so proud of their accomplishments, but mostly of the caring young women they have become. She loved being part of their lives.
Vicki was a 5th grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. Prior to working with children, she taught English as a Second Language to adult students at Lakeshore Technical College. She loved her students and tried to bring her enthusiasm for learning into the classroom.
Vicki always had an adventurous side to her and a zest for life. She was definitely a people-person. She could always be seen supporting her daughters at dance team events and instrumental recitals. She enjoyed entertaining, traveling to Germany and Italy, history, and watching The Green Bay Packers. She was an incredible cook, the kind that knew how to use a pinch of this and that to make the perfect dish. Recently, she accompanied a church group to New Orleans to help with last year's hurricane relief efforts.
She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ and was active for many years as a Sunday School Teacher of the kindergarten class. She also served on the Consistory and the Jefferson-Ebenezer Partnership, which helped provide school supplies, books, and lunch buddies for Jefferson Elementary School students.
She is survived by her daughters Nicole (special friend Justin) and Morgan, her mother, Jeanette Wangemann, sisters, Lori (Kurt) January of Maryland and Kristi (Richard) Vogel of Howards Grove, nieces Desiree January (fiancé Waun), Tiffany (Solomon) Stoddard, and great nieces Cambrie and Aylen Stoddard all of Maryland. She is further survived by her fiancé, Mark Krueger and his children Grace and Ben and special friends Barb and Scott Klemme. She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Wangemann, and her grandparents, Elmer and Muriel Wangemann and Rudolph and Minnie Neumann.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Ebenezer United Church of Christ (3215 Saemann Avenue) with Rev. Dr. Roger Mealiff officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, at the church, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be at Eaton Union Cemetery. Please visit www.zimmerfuneralhome.com to sign the guestbook.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
