Timothy J. Johnson

Timothy J. Johnson, age 64, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully, after a short battle with brain cancer, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

He was born in Plymouth on July 25, 1961, to the late Marvin and Marion (Maeuser) Johnson. Tim graduated from North High School, class of 1980. On June 3, 1989, Tim was united in marriage to Penny Grunow. Tim was a carpenter for most of his life.

Tim was an avid outdoorsman, thoroughly enjoying hunting, fishing, woodworking, forging and fly tying. He was a people person who could always make friends wherever he would go and always had a story to tell. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar. He will be deeply missed by so many.

Tim is survived by his loving wife Penny; sons, Trevor, Alex, Drew Johnson; brothers, Scott, David and Donald Johnson; mother-in-law, Irene Grunow and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Larry) Paplham, Dave (Honore) Grunow, Glen Grunow, Patty (Dave) Paasch and Marge Grunow; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Along with his parents, Tim was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel; a brother-in-law, Gary Grunow and his father-in-law, Fritz Grunow.

A Memorial Service for Tim will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N 8th St in Sheboygan. Family will greet visitors at Ballhorn Chapels, on Tuesday, from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Tim’s service will be livestreamed on his obituary page on the funeral home website.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tim’s name.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora at Home Hospice for the excellent care given to Tim. There were so many people who helped and supported both Tim and his family during his journey. A thank you just doesn’t seem enough, but know that it meant the world to all of us.
