Stephen M. Glynn “Mike”, age 59, of Elkhart Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
He was born in Milwaukee on March 9, 1966, to Stephen and Pamela (Brown) Glynn. He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School and continued his education, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science from UW-Milwaukee. Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1984 until 1986.
On September 3, 2004, Mike was united in marriage to Erin Urness. He worked as an invstigator with the Federal Defender Services of Wisconsin for 18 years, where he formed many meaningful friendships and developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and spirit of the Menominee Indian Reservation.
Mike had a big heart and truly enjoyed helping others. He loved listening to live music, watching sports, and making friends wherever he went. He found joy in the little things in life. Above all, he loved being a husband, father, son and brother. His legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love we carry forward.
Mike is survived by his wife, Erin; his children, Riley (Christopher) Driggers, Maia Glynn and Sam Glynn; his grandchildren, Carter and Delilah Driggers; his parents, Stephen (Katie Walsh) Glynn and Pam (Tom) Trost; his brother, Ben (Tracy) Glynn; his aunts and uncles, Shannon (Joe) Radosevich, Geri (John) Coggins, Orley (Deb) Brown and Debbie Linley; his father-in-law, Tom Urness; his brothers-in-law, Chad (Julie) Urness and Chris (Rose) Urness; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Orley (Geraldine) Brown; his paternal grandparents, Jim (Marjorie) Glynn and his mother-in-law, Jill Urness.
A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held on Friday, January 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kohler Center for Marsh Education, W7119 Cty Rd S R in Elkhart Lake, with full military honors to be held at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mike’s name.
The family would like to thank the Elkhart Lake First Responders, Glenbeulah First Responders, Orange Cross Ambulance and the Elkhart Lake Police Department for their compassion and support during this difficult time. They would also extend gratitude to the staff at Aurora Medical Center and Froedtert Hospital for the excellent care given to Mike.
