Sharon K. Herzog

Sharon K. Herzog, 80, of Kiel, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Sycamore Lodge Senior Living in Kiel.  She was born October 1, 1942 in MN to the late Paul and Eda (Rientz) Nauschutz.

Sharon graduated from Howards Grove High School with the Class of 1960.  On October 18, 1966 she was united in marriage to Carl “Chuck” Herzog in Waukegan, IL.  Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage. Chuck preceded her in death on July 22, 2016.

Sharon worked as a custodian for Howards Grove High School for many years.  Her greatest passion was her family, she loved raising her children, being mom, grandma, and great-grandma.  Sharon also enjoyed golfing, bowling and she dabbled in trap shooting with Chuck.

Sharon is survived by her four children; Brian (Michele) Herzog, Ruth (Robert) Meyers, Carmen (Mike) Lienau, and Paula (Tom) Anhalt, by her fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, brother Karl ( Pat) Nauschutz, sisters; Joann Bramstedt, Linda Drexler, Barb (Bernie) McKichan, and Becky (Paul) Schlegel, brothers-in-law; Arwin (Marlyn) Herzog, Eugene (Dorothy) Herzog, Donald (Lois) Herzog and Pete Prange, sisters-in-law; Shirley Reinemann and Mary Herzog, she is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, sister Cora (Mike) Pachniak, her mother and father-in-law, and brothers and sisters-in-laws; Ronald Bramstedt, Robert Damrow, Steve Drexler, Marion Prange, Elaine (Merlin) Rautmann, Jane (Jeanold) Schmidt, Karen Herzog, Robert Herzog, and Donald Reinemann.

Per Sharon’s wishes a private family burial will take place.
