Sandra Mae Damrow, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, May 15, 2026. She was born in Plymouth on July 27, 1946 to the late Elroy Sr. and Florence (Kutz) Ertel. On August 8, 1964, she married the love of her life, Richard Damrow. Together, they raised three children, Randy, Shelly, and Raquel.
Sandra was known as a woman that loved life and her family. She loved to gamble, and frequently took trips with her friend Mary to Las Vegas. They even saw Siegfried and Roy! She enjoyed playing Sheepshead, listening to ALL the Elvis songs (especially Blue Hawaii, Love Me Tender, and I Want To Be Free), and playing Bingo any chance she could. Sandra will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sandra is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Richard, and their children: Randy Damrow, Shelly (Larry) Drews, and Raquel (Scott) Sager. She is further survived by her grandchildren Vanessa and Taylor Sager, April, and Amanda Drews, Kristy Flores, Tiffany Bartel, and Kass (Andy) Code, and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings Verlin (Sue) Ertel, Myron Ertel, Janette Mewes, and Brenda Ertel; and sister-in-law Dawn Brownson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Ashley Drews; siblings Elroy Ertel, Jr., Marlene Maxey and Lucille Halverson; her brother-in-law Glenn Damrow; and sister-in-law Judy Scheidt.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the Shores of Sheboygan, as well as Dr. Kari Stauffer Vrzal. Their warmth and compassion for Sandra and her family will not be forgotten.
A Celebration of Sandra’s life will take place at Town and Country Restaurant, W1943 Co Rd J, in Sheboygan on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 12:00- 4:00 p.m.
