Ruth Munnik

Ruth Lucille Munnik of Sheboygan passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. She was 89 years old.
Ruth was born December 13, 1927 in Sheboygan Falls, the daughter of Edwin and Lucille (nee Heidenreiter) Keopka. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1946. On June 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Cornelius "Casey" Munnik at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1992.
For 17 years, Ruth worked in the clerical department of H.C. Prange's corporate office. She retired in 1990. Ruth was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she volunteered in the church office. She had been active with the St. Luke's Methodist Pacesetters Group in Sheboygan, and assisted with the mail at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home. When her sons were younger, she helped with their Boy Scout Troop. She enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables, playing cards and trips to Northern Wisconsin to the family's cabin in Carter.
Ruth is survived by her son Les Munnik of Osseo, WI and her daughters-in-law Donna Munnik of Franklin, WI and Renee Munnik of Sheboygan. She is further survived by 3 grandchildren: Rebecca (Rick) Gebelein, Cheri (Lance) Katers and Lisa (Noah) Rusch, 7 great-grandchildren: Nora, Benjamin, Landon, Lincoln, Sofia, Maevyn and Kingston, sister-in-law Zaretta Keopka of Springfield, OR, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Casey, son Larry and brother Lawrence Keopka.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, September 11, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1810 N. 13th St. in Sheboygan. Pastor Alan Kretschmar will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 11am - 12 noon. She will be laid to rest at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Appalachia Service Project (ASP High School Mission Project).
