Roy Sellars, 77, of Sheboygan, WI died peacefully on December 10, 2025, and went to be with his Lord.
He was born on August 19, 1948, in Boulder, CO to Bill and Alicia Sellars, brother to Vera and Linda.
After graduating from Ladysmith High School in 1966, he joined the Coast Guard in 1967. He was in the Coast Guard from 1967-1971 which brought him to Sturgeon Bay, WI. He enjoyed sharing stories of this time. Roy’s favorite job after the Coast Guard was on the radio in Two Rivers, WI. He had a great voice for it too.
He met the love of his life, Susan, in Manitowoc and they were married on April 24, 1976, in Dodgeville, WI during a thunderstorm. Roy and Sue moved their family to Sheboygan in 1976.
Roy worked in sales management, real estate and banking. All his careers involved working directly with people because he loved interacting with others. There were no strangers to Roy because he always asked your name, welcomed you with a smile and most likely a corny joke. He was a friend to all.
Roy was a devoted husband to Sue for 49 years. They loved to take car rides exploring Wisconsin, enjoyed their many trips to Kelly Lake, biking, taking walks and just being together.
Roy was a very supportive father and proud of his children. He was always willing to help but best of all to listen. He especially loved taking photos and supporting Heather at her cross country meets, track meets, road races and marathons. He was her number one supporter and biked alongside her as she trained for her first half and full marathons.
Roy was so proud of his five grandchildren. He always loved to see them and take photos at their various activities. He enjoyed cheering them on near and far in all their sport activities.
Over the past 9 years he enjoyed taking many trips to East Lyme, CT to visit Heather, Ethan, and his granddaughters. For the past 3 years he has loved having his furry companion, Bella, by his side.
Roy loved to ride his bike, take photos of nature, and sing in the choir. He was active at St. Dominic Parish - in the choir, as a lector, and Eucharistic Minister. His faith was incredibly important to him.
Roy is survived by his wife, Susan, and his children Heidi (Chad) Prisinger of Sheboygan Falls, Todd Hooper of Vail, Arizona and Heather (Ethan)Treptow of Moseley, Virginia and grandchildren, Ashlyn, Ian, Emma, Katherine, and Cora.
