Rose McKillips

October 8, 1938 — April 4, 2016

Rose M. McKillips, 77, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at Sheboygan Senior Community. Rose was born October 8, 1938, in Janesville, WI, to the late Laurence and Sophie (Bintzler) Temple. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1957. On January 9, 1960, she married Joseph E. McKillips in Janesville. Rose was a dedicated homemaker and also worked part-time at Kohler Company. She enjoyed many traveling and outdoor camping experiences to visit family in the state of Washington and volunteered her time at Maywood Environmental Center, St. Nicholas Hospital, and Meals on Wheels. She also cherished spending time with her four grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Joe, she is survived by two children, Sara (Bill) Demmon, Howards Grove, WI and Joseph L. (Kim) McKillips, Antioch, IL; four grandchildren, Catherine and Hannah Demmon and Lexington and Leyton McKillips; one sister, Shirley (Jim) Long, Auburn, WA; two nieces, Karen (Mark) McCutchen, Renton, WA and Tracy Kiele, Kent, WA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one niece, Debbie Julison.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 3:00pm at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ (310 Bluff Avenue, Sheboygan) with the Rev. Jim Hollister and Rev. Barbara Hill, of the Progressive Spiritual Community, officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, at the church, from 1:00pm until the time of service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Sheboygan Senior Community, Dr. Jill Schmitt and Dr. Steven Kream and their nursing staff at the Sheboygan Clinic for their loving care of Rose.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
