Romaine "Romy" H. Drake

Romaine “Romy” H. Drake, age 90, of Sheboygan County, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 21, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Manitowoc on February 21, 1936, to the late Helmuth and Dora (Gierke) Drake. He graduated from Elkhart Lake High School. On November 9, 1957, Romy was united in marriage to Joyce Stemper. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2024. Romy was employed with Kohler Company for over 40 years, retiring in 1998. He was a longtime member of the Winooski Archery Club.

Romy was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially with his family. You could find him spending time with his children and grandchildren hunting, fishing, and camping, a tradition which continues today. He will be deeply missed.

Romy is survived by his children, Beth Drake, Kerry (Jackie) Drake, Darlene Baker, and Gene Drake; grandchildren, Joe (Amanda), Debi (Dieter), Katelyn (Ryan), Tim, Alyssa, Chad, Jeremy (Sam), and Justin; six great-grandchildren and a brother, Kenneth Drake; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Along with his parents and wife, Joyce, Romy was preceded in death by his brothers, Wyman (Esther) Drake, Leroy (Rita) Drake and Wallace Drake and a sister-in-law, Eunice Drake.

Following Romy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sharon S. Community Hospice for the excellent care given to Romy. They would also like to thank Dr. Bettag and his staff for the many years of care and support.
