Robert T. Fenner, 74, of Sheboygan, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was born on December 26, 1948 to the late William Fenner and Jeanette (Millert) Owens.

 

Bob was a 1967 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. He continued his education at UW Stevens Point. On May 19, 1973 he married Barbara Ehlers, who preceded him in death on March 13, 2012.

 

He was employed at Sheboygan Paint Company for the majority of his career, eventually retiring from Nemschoff Chairs.

 

Anyone that knew Bob, knows how much he loved being surrounded by friends and community.  He loved giving back to the community and volunteering his time. He enjoyed his involvement with Kiwanis International, Special Olympics, Sheboygan County Conservation Association (Pheasant Program); Boy Scouts, where he served as a past scout leader; Sheboygan Symphony Choir; Elks Club member; Meals on Wheels; and Bookworm Gardens. He was often times recognized for his dedication and involvement, past awards included: Outstanding Club Leadership as President 1982-1983 along with other appreciation awards with Kiwanis International; and Edgard Koeser Conservationist of the Year, April 1999 & April 2011 with Sheboygan County Conservation Association. Bob was also involved in the creation of Maywood, which is a place he continued to enjoy visiting and volunteering.

 

He was baptized and a longtime member of St. Mark Church in Sheboygan before moving to St. John’s UCC, also in Sheboygan. Bob had a long commitment to both church communities including Council leadership roles, Bell and Chime Choir member, and Stephen Ministries at St Johns.  He also enjoyed being involved with the St. Peter Claver Bell Choir for many years.

 

Bob is survived by his children Christine (Jeff) Zimmerman and Jarrod (Ashley) Fenner; one grandson Lance (Aleah) Ryan; two great grandchildren Charlie and Ella; partner Vicki Krueger and her daughter Kim (Lara) Krueger. He is further survived by his twin Richard (Mary Sue) Fenner; sisters LuAnn Rauscher and Tina (Cheeko) Jochimsen; step-brother John (Karen) Owens; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by his grandparents Arthur and Laura Millert; step-father Donald Owens; mother-in-law Margaret Ehlers; his brother-in-laws Joe Rauscher and Gerry (Mary) Ehlers.

 

A memorial service for Bob will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 4:00pm, at St. John U.C.C, 1248 Lincoln Ave, Sheboygan, WI. Family and friends may greet with the family at 12:00pm until the time of the memorial service.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bob’s memory to Maywood - 3615 Mueller Road, Sheboygan, WI 53083.
