Peter Gorecki

September 29, 1936 — January 30, 2017

Mr. Peter M. Gorecki, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 30, 2017 at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home. He was 80 years old.

Peter was born September 29, 1936 in Milwaukee, the son of Peter and Eleanor (nee Blasczyk) Gorecki. After graduating from Messmer High School in Milwaukee, Peter was employed with Western Electric. During that period, Peter joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955 - 1957, receiving training as a Medical Aidman. Upon returning from service, Peter tested and was accepted to the Milwaukee Police Department, and was an officer in the Traffic Bureau for 31 years, retiring in 1990.

Peter was united in marriage with Marilyn Geidel at St. Cyril Church in Sheboygan. They resided in Milwaukee until retirement, and then moved to various locations throughout Wisconsin, deciding to move to Sheboygan in 2003.

Peter enjoyed hunting, going on fishing trips with his buddies, and bowling on various teams. He was a member of the Milwaukee Police Association, and the local Sheboygan chapters of the Parkinson's Association.

Peter is survived by his wife Marilyn of Sheboygan and their children: Paul Gorecki of Boulder, CO, David (Shari) Gorecki of Fort Collins, CO, Jacqueline (Eugene) Manna of Racine and Nancy (Jeffery Bonin) Gorecki of Longmont, CO. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren: Sarah, Elias, Zulkifli and Dzkirah Gorecki, Jack and Steffani Manna and Nathan Bonin, a sister Patricia Reick of Oconomowoc, sister-in-law Nancy Geidel of Delavan, brother-in-law James (Julie) Geidel of Longmont, CO, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Peter will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler.

The family would like to thank Peter's second family at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home for their compassionate care and support over the last 3 years. He was a very special guy to all who knew him.
