Paul Joseph Urner III

September 7, 1937 — July 1, 2025

Plymouth

Paul Joseph Urner III, age 88, passed away with his family by his side on July 1, 2025. He was born on September 7, 1937 in Sheboygan to the late Paul II and Rose (Strojinc) Urner. On July 29, 1961, he married the love of his life Diane at St. Anna Church. Together they raised three children: Mike, Steve and Sheryl.

Paul was proud to be an American, and served his country honorably in The Wisconsin Army National Guard. In 1959, along with his father, he started a business, Rhine Auto Inc. In 1964, he became the sole owner of the business. Rhine Auto Inc. has been serving the local community ever since, and continues to be family owned by his children and grandchildren. He loved all things racing. He and his family were also involved for many years at local race tracks, MSA, and IRA. Above all, Paul loved spending time with his family. After retirement, he and Diane spent many winters in Arizona and summers at the lake in Mercer, Wisconsin. Paul will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Paul is survived by his wife Diane and his children Mike (Denise) Urner, Steve (Kristen) Urner, and Sheryl (Matt) Schwochert. He is further survived by his grandchildren Amy Prening, Sara (Randy) Evraets, Craig Urner, Rachel (Jeremy) Graf, Sam (Tiffany) Schwochert, Roxanne Schwochert, Wade Schwochert, Brant Urner, and Vanesa Urner; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings Rosemary (Alan) Sippel, Yvonne (Derrold) Schubert, brothers-in-law Glenroy (Brenda) and Bryan (Lynn) Franzen, and many other loved family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his parents-in-law Adam and Elsie Franzen, his brother-in-law Laverne (Edith) Franzen, and sister-in-law Anita Franzen.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in memory of Paul.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
