Nancy Gooding

Nancy M. Gooding, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday evening, August 11, 2018 at Willowdale Health Services in New Holstein. She was 82 years old.
Nancy was born September 15, 1935 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Milton and Elfrieda (nee Stoelting) Kuether. She graduated from Kiel High School in 1953 and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Central Michigan. On July 4, 1959, she was united in marriage with Gene Gooding in Kiel. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Nancy loved being a teacher, and taught 3rd grade at Cleveland Elementary School until her retirement in 1993. She was a passionate educator, sharing countless lessons with not only her students, but also her family and friends.
An avid Christian, Nancy's faith guided her life. She was a prayer warrior, always silently and compassionately helping and giving to those in need. Through her battle with Alzheimers, she was the perfect example of grace and strength. Nancy enjoyed volunteering and giving of her time and talents to others. She left an impact on everyone she met.
Nancy is survived by her children: Sally (Dale) Phillips of Elcho and Michael (Lisa) Gooding of Grayslake, IL; and her grandchildren: Amanda (Nick) Yankunas, Lacey (Ryan) Busse and Lane Gooding. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren Alex and Kendra Busse, step-mother Marion Kuether of Kiel, sisters: Betty (Gerry) Gast of Pardeeville, Judy Kuether of Plainfield, IN and Jane (Robert) Voigt of Kiel, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gene.
A Time of Sharing Memories will be held at 4:30PM on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road (Hwy 42 & JJ) in Sheboygan. A Gathering and Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held on Thursday from 3:00-4:30PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the Howards Grove Firefighters.
