Merlyn JoAnn Enriquez, age 94, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 9, 2026. She was born in Sheboygan on February 13, 1932 to the late Elmore and Viola (Kampmann) Storbeck. She was an honor graduate of Central High School class of 1950. On August 5, 1962, she married the love of her life, Humberto, in Waukegan, IL. Together they raised four children: Cheryl, Peggy, Steve and Scott.

Merlyn was the kind of person you would be lucky to have as a neighbor and friend. She worked as the manager of Park and Shop Deli for many years, serving her community delicious food from her own recipes. She was an amazing cook, and a manager that her colleagues respected greatly. Above all, she loved spending time with her large extended family. She and Humberto loved to camp all over the United States, and enjoyed their time wintering in Florida. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to thank the staff at Countryside Manor for caring for Merlyn during her time of need. Their warmth and compassion will not be forgotten.

Merlyn is survived by her children: Peggy Sixel, Steve (Karen) Mahlendorf, Rachel (Gary) Morgan, and Scott (Janice) Enriquez; and her 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Humberto, daughter Cheryl Guenther, sister Robertis Grosskopf, and son-in-law Gerald Sixel.

Per family wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be private.
