Marian Friedrichs

Marian R. Friedrichs, 80, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, May 04, 2016 at home. She was born August 23, 1935, in Sheboygan, to the late William and Marie (Potter) Hoftiezer. Marian graduated from Oostburg High School in 1953. On March 19, 1955, she married Thomas Friedrichs at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He preceded in her in death on February 11, 2008.

Marian was a member of Hope Church in Sheboygan. During her lifetime she shared her faith by serving as an elder and a Sunday school teacher. She also participated in congregational care, vacation bible school and HKUSA. Marian volunteered at The Gathering Place and Remedy. She enjoyed gardening, walking, sewing and especially the company of the ladies in her book club. She also loved to travel, but mostly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Karl) Fasse, Sheboygan; her sons, David Friedrichs, Sheboygan, Daniel Friedrichs, Salem and John Friedrichs, Glendale; two beloved grandchildren, Joshua Friedrichs and Ashlyn Friedrichs, both of Salem; two sisters, Dorothy (Ralph) Dulmes and Ruth (James) Hinz; three brothers, Kenneth (Dorothy) Hoftiezer, David (Angeline) Hoftiezer and William (Marlene) Hoftiezer and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by one son, Michael Friedrichs, three brothers, Henry, Allen and William, Jr, one infant brother, two sisters, Carol (Miles) Sandee and Vivian Hoftiezer.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Hope Church (612 Ontario Avenue, Sheboygan) with the Rev. Bill TeWinkle officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, at the church, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
