Lorraine Irene Broetzmann (Krause), 92, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on May 31, 2025 surrounded by her family at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. She was born on May 7, 1933 to the late Arno and Hilda (Haas) Krause in the Town of Sherman/Random Lake.
Lorraine was baptized, confirmed and schooled at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sherman Center. She graduated from Random Lake High School, Class of 1951.
On June 5, 1954 Lorraine was united in marriage to ElRoy Broetzmann at St. John’s Lutheran Church. ElRoy preceded her in death on June 4, 2005.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sheboygan Falls. Lorraine enjoyed making quilts for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she all dearly loved. She also made many quilts for World Relief at church. Lorraine also enjoyed playing cards, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and traveling to their cottage in Langlade County. She worked at Kohler Co. for 36 years before her retirement in 1995. Lorraine was a member of Kohler Quarter Century Club.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (LeRoy) Scheibl; her son Curtis Broetzmann; one granddaughter Angela (Chris) Thompson; two, grandsons Kyle (Christjana) Broetzmann and Brandon (Abbey) Broetzmann; three great-grandchildren, Brady Stormoen, Karlie Thompson and Austin Stormoen; one step great-grandson Gavin Thompson; two sisters-in-law, Carol Navis and Marlene Broetzmann.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband ElRoy Broetzmann; her parents Arno and Hilda Krause; her daughter-in-law Debra Broetzmann; her two sisters, Carol Krause and Bernice (John) Schaefer; three brothers-in-law, Clarence, Earl, LeRoy (Elvira) Broetzmann; five sisters-in-law, Irene (Roger) Schultz, Marion (Ernie) Prinsen; Evelyn (Kenneth) Dolge, Betty (Tom) Knowles and Gladys (Ed) Hartman; and her step great-granddaughter McKenna Thompson.
A funeral service for Lorraine will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 2:00pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 730 County Rd. PPP, Sheboygan Falls, with Pastor Adam Wolfe officiating. The service will be livestreamed and available via recording on the funeral home’s website. Relatives and friends can greet the family from 11:00am until the time of service at church. A private family committal will be held at The Chapel of Eternal Lights at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Kohler.
Memorial contributions can be made in Lorraine’s name.
