Lavonne Debrauske

May 11, 1930 — October 10, 2018

Lavonne D. Debrauske, 88, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Waterford at Plymouth. Lavonne was born on Mother's Day, May 11, 1930, in St. Paul, MN, to the late Earl and Dorothy (Bensen) Marvin. She graduated from Barron High School in 1948 where she was a drum major in the marching band and played the flute in the band and orchestra. Lavonne attended the University of Wisconsin and the County Normal School. On July 19, 1952, she married John Debrauske in Menomonie. Lavonne and her husband celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this past summer. She worked for the Farm and Home Administration Office in Menomonie, the legislature in Des Moines, IA and did book keeping at Maurice's. Lavonne also was a member of Catholic Daughters and Shoreline Women's Club and served on various committees.
Lavonne's main enjoyment was as a wife and mother for her husband and four wonderful children, all of which graduated from college with a bachelor's degree and three with their master's degree. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, golfing, traveling, parties, especially Packer parties. As a sports fan, Lavonne enjoyed attending Green Bay Packer games, Milwaukee Brewer games and Wisconsin football and basketball games. She was also involved with various ladies' clubs and volunteer work. Lavonne especially enjoyed attending the sporting and musical events of her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her four children, Pam (Norman) Matar, Thomas (Visitacion) Debrauske, Corey Debrauske and Mark (Michelle) Debrauske; nine grandchildren, Joseph (Yuliya) Matar, Michael (Maria) Matar, Margaret Debrauske, John Debrauske, Brittany Debrauske, Michael Debrauske, Kowdy (Rev. Austin) Parkhurst, Elena Debrauske, Derek Debrauske; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Alice, Olive and Michael; one sister, Judy (Ben) Smallman and one sister-in-law, Linda Marvin. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bradley.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove). A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to be used for Alzheimer's research and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. James Pawlak and the staff of St. Nicholas Hospital, Dr. Louis Coulis, the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Morningside and Waterford and St. John's of Kohler for their care and concern.
