Kristin Cogley

Kristin K. Cogley, age 77, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2020, at Harvest Home in Howards Grove, Wisconsin.

Kristin was born on October 9, 1943, to Paul and Helen (Anthony) Kindig in Schenectady, New York. She spent her childhood in Naperville, Illinois and left for Michigan State University where she received a bachelor's degree in Art. Subsequently, Kristin moved to Port Huron, Michigan; taught elementary school art; mothered two children; and returned to school to become a registered nurse. She worked as a neonatal nurse at Port Huron Hospital for 20 years and continued her career in Madison, Wisconsin, in Adolescent Psychiatry at Meriter Hospital. Kristin moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 2001 and completed her career in the Psychiatric unit at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center and retired in 2010.

Kristin was a natural-born caregiver - caring for her children, parents, grandchildren, nursing patients, and cats throughout the years. Devotion to her family, being supportive, and being an empathetic listener were priorities in her life. She was courageously independent, had a keen sense of humor, and a had wide group of interests. Reading, practicing art, international traveling, and gardening were her passions. Kristin valued learning, education, and remained a loyal Michigan State alumni. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and Master Gardeners.

Kristin is survived by her sons, Michael (Tammy and her children, Anya, Alex, and Nich) Cogley and Paul (Laura) Cogley; grandchildren, Katie and Tommy Cogley; brother, David (Margi) Kindig; sister, Betsy (John) Rogers; and many special nieces and nephews.

Kristin was preceded in death by her parents and special aunt, Betty Pearce.

Kristin's family would like to thank the staff at Cameo House for their care and compassion while she resided at Harvest Home.

Internment will occur in August, 2021 in the Woodbine Cemetery in Woodbine, Illinois.
