Kay L. Albrecht

Sheboygan

Kay Louise Albrecht (Blohm), of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with lung cancer on August 2, 2025.

She was born on January 12, 1952, in Menominee, Michigan to Russell and Joyce E. Blohm (Kuich). She attended Wallace Grade School and graduated with the Class of 1970 from Stephenson High School in Stephenson, Michigan. On January 7, 1976, she married Loren Albrecht in Marinette, Wisconsin. Loren proceeded her in death in 2008.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dawn Blohm.

Kay earned a certification in early childhood education from LTC and worked for several years as a daycare teacher at the YMCA.

She is survived by her daughter, Jenna Albrecht (Andrew Hanke), and her son, Christopher Albrecht (Denise Voss); her beloved eight grandchildren Atheana Zinser (Branden), Ariannah Albrecht-Hanke, Azaleia Albrecht-Hanke, Antigoney Albrecht-Hanke, Avealine Albrecht-Hanke, Caitlyn Albrecht, Noah Albrecht, and Mason Albrecht; and her great-granddaughter, Lilith Albrecht. Kay is also survived by her sister, Sandra Kuffel; her brother, Steven Blohm (Karla); and her nephews and one niece.

Kay loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed babysitting and was always willing to help, almost never turning down the chance to care for her grandchildren. She loved being a Girl Scout leader and helping with countless grandchildren’s birthday parties. She was talented with crafts and loved crocheting, cross-stitching, sewing, and working on puzzles. She also loved relaxing at home with her favorite soap operas, The Goldbergs and Lifetime and Hallmark movies.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at Zimmer Westview Funeral Home, W2132 Garton Road in Howards Grove on August 11, 2025 from 4-6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to lung cancer research in Kay’s memory.

A family burial will take place in Peshtigo, WI.
