Karen "Red" M. Tramte

August 8, 1950 — June 19, 2025

Sheboygan Falls

Karen "Red" M. Tramte, age 74, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully and pain free on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at her home with family present.

She was born in Sheboygan on August 8, 1950, to the late Walton and Bess (Hawe) Stemerdink. She graduated from Oostburg High School. She was employed at Stemerdink Meats, K. W. Muth and then Kohler Company for several years until her retirement.

For many years Red enjoyed riding with the local H.O.G. chapter, whether it was for fun, charity or a rally. She often said, “those were the best years”. When her days of riding were in the past, she enjoyed visits with family, shopping, planting her flowers out on her deck and going out for some Mexican food and a Margarita occasionally. She was known for her banter and her one-of-a-kind personality by family and friends. And that will forever be missed.

She is survived by her only daughter, Shawn (Jeff) De Groff of Kiel; grandchildren, Andres Martinez, Evan Martinez and Jesenia (Beto)Martinez all Green Bay, great-granddaughters Arielle, Livanna, Azaleia, and Alaya; her brother Don Stemerdink of Sheboygan Falls; aunt Mary Wykhuis and cousins Lynn Wykhuis and Kay Medley (all of Oostburg).

Following Red's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Red’s name can be made to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice or Humane Society of Sheboygan County.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wenig of Green Bay Oncology and his staff, Dr. Irene at St. Nicholas Hospital for her caring and compassionate bedside manner that helped Red to clarify what was important to her in her final days, as well as all the staff at St. Nicholas 4th floor that provided excellent care for Red, she enjoyed chit chatting with all of you. And a special thank you to Sharon Richardson Hospice for the compassion and support you provided during Red’s final journey.
