Karen O'Brien

Karen L. O'Brien passed away Monday morning, December 23, 2019 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She was 79 years old.

Karen was born September 18, 1940 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Glen and Gladyce (nee DeBruine) Sauer. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1959, and later studied nursing at LTC, graduating in 1984 as an RN. She worked at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, and later Sheboygan Progressive Care Center and Morningside Nursing Home. After her retirement, she continued to volunteer at Morningside.

An avid crafter and painter, Karen owned her own craft store for many years. She loved spending time in Door County, thrifting and being with her cats.

Karen is survived by her children: Raymond (Mary) Quasius III, Typton "TJ" Quasius and Heather Quasius. She is further survived by granddaughters Courtney and Abbey Quasius, sister Ginn Ann (Paul) Lukas of Milwaukee, niece Amanda, former husband and father of her children, Ray Quasius Jr., other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and former husband David O'Brien

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N. 8th St. in Sheboygan. Pastor Dan Krueger will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00AM - 12:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Karen's name are suggested to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or Wisconsin Alzheimer's Association.
