Judith Mae Grunewald, 81, of Sheboygan, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.  She was born October 30, 1941 in Marshfield to the late Elroy and Verona Pfenning.  Judy graduated from Bayview High School and went on to take nursing classes at Mount Sini Medical Center in Milwaukee, graduating in August of 1962. 

Judy worked as a registered nurse for many years in the Milwaukee area with her last position being with Embrace Care Management in Sheboygan.  Judy loved flowers, she had beautiful gardens around her home. She was also a talented quilter making quilts for her family and friends. Judy ‘s large collection of quilting materials is being donated to C.A.M.O in Plymouth.

In January of 1960 she met Ralph Grunewald at a dance at the Eagles Club. He asked her for a dance and the rest was history. They were united in marriage on September 1, 1962. Together they celebrated 60 plus years.

Judy is survived by her husband Ralph; daughters, Kristine (Michael) Siegenthaler and Lisa Grunewald; by her grandsons, Carson and Jackson Siegenthaler and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Diane (Peter) Lutzke.

Following Judy’s wishes, she will be cremated and her family will have a private celebration of her life.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Judy’s name.
