Joyce Kummer

Joyce M. Kummer, 93, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Joyce was born August 22, 1924, in Sheboygan Falls, to the late Peter and Emma (Mertz) Jesky. She was united in marriage to Frank Kummer, Jr. on June 19, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2005. Joyce helped run "The Big Apple" with her husband and parents on Sheboygan's south side for 29 years. For many years, Frank and Joyce enjoyed their cottage at Cedar Lake and traveling to Canada. She was also a member of the Sheboygan Elk's Club.
Joyce is survived by her two nephews, David (Kathryn) Turner, Palmdale, CA and Jeff (Kimberly Maass) Roehl, Sheboygan; one great-nephew, Robert (Theresa)Turner; one great-great-niece, Emma Turner.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, June (Arthur) Roehl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church (2133 N 22nd St, Sheboygan) with Rev. Gideon Buya officiating.
