Jean Schuchardt

December 16, 1927 — February 7, 2018

Jean Marie Schuchardt, 90, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan Falls. The former Jean Mallmann was born on December 16, 1927 in Sheboygan, WI to the late Arnold and Elizabeth Schaefer Mallmann. She attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School and was a 1946 graduate of Central High School.
On May 21, 1955, Jean married Kenneth W. Schuchardt at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Jean took great pride in her role as a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She later worked part-time to help put her children through college, retiring from Sears in 1987. After their retirement, Ken and Jean traveled extensively including Australia, New Zealand, China and Europe. Ken preceded Jean in death on June 1, 1997.
Jean was a long time member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Sheboygan.
Jean had a love for candy and always made sure she had chocolates to offer family and friends who stopped to visit.
Jean is survived by her daughter Linda (Robert) Surprenant, Muskego; sons, Mark (Roseann) Schuchardt, Elkhart Lake and Jeffrey (Karen) Schuchardt, Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, Matthew Surprenant Marysville, WA, Timothy (Kendra) Surprenant, Eagan, MN, Sarah (fiancé Robert Durrance Jr.) Surprenant, Tallahassee, FL, Katrina, Kirk and Marielle Schuchardt, Sheboygan, Karissa Schuchardt, Dallas, TX, Mercedes Schuchardt, Green Bay and Tyson and Kathryn Schuchardt, Sheboygan; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Emilia Surprenant, Eagan, MN; a sister Lucille (Ludwig) Johst, Sheboygan; sisters-in-laws Joan Mallmann, Minneapolis, MN, Mary Rasmussen, Tempe, AZ and Janice Beineman, Appleton; brothers-in-law John (Diane) Schuchardt, Elkhorn and Leon Schuchardt, Madison and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lester and Edna Goodnough Schuchardt; a brother, Frederick Mallmann; brothers-in-law Dale Rasmussen and Richard Beineman; sister-in-law Elaine Schuchardt and niece Laurie Jean Mallmann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Parish (807 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan) with Rev. Matthew Widder as celebrant. Friends may call on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove) from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A memorial fund has been established in Jean's name.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the attentive and compassionate care they extended to Jean during her final days.
