Janice Kay (Kamenske) Wurm fell asleep in Jesus at her home in Waupaca, on May 7th, 2018. She was born in Chicago, IL on April 26th, 1939. The daughter of Edward & Adeline (Bonow) Kamenske. She was born again through water and the Word of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism in 1939 at Zion Lutheran Church on Winston Ave in Chicago, IL. She confirmed the Christian faith she received on the day of her baptism in 1953 at Zion Lutheran Church Winston Ave in Chicago. On the day she was confirmed she received the life-giving body and blood of Jesus. She was united in Holy Marriage to Rev. William C. Wurm on December 30th, 1978 at Zion Lutheran Church Glenbeulah, and God blessed them with 39 years of life together. God also blessed them with the gift of children: Roxanne and Matthew, and three step sons: Ronald, Russell, and Robert.
God blessed Janice's life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. She faithfully served as a Lutheran School teacher for well over 40 years in Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois, and Wisconsin. She also used her talents as a Vision Therapist most recently at ABSee Vision in Menasha. Janice faithfully taught Sunday School for many years and volunteered at her Grandchildren's school at Christ Lutheran West Bloomfield, WI. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League at Calvary Lutheran Waupaca. Janice is remembered for her love, compassion, delightful sense of humor, and devout Christian faith.
Janice is survived by her husband, Rev. William C. Wurm of Waupaca; her sisters, Gail (Frank) Schillinger of Burbank, IL; Ruth Gerk of Chicago, IL; daughter, Roxanne (Rev. John) Taggatz, of West Bloomfield, WI; son, Rev. Matthew (Kyra) Wurm of Brookings, SD; step sons, Ronald Wurm of Poplar Grove, IL; Russell (Kay) Wurm of Potter; Robert Wurm of Milwaukee; by her grandchildren, Bryce, Veronica, Edward, Martin, Julia, Eleanor, Micah, Annika, Aubrey, and Isaac; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her sister, Linda McCormick; daughter, Roxanna Lynn.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1614 S. 23rd. St. Sheboygan, with Pastor Christian Gugel officiating and Rev. Dr. Harold Senkbeil preaching. Her body will be laid to rest at Greenbush Cemetery to await the resurrection at the end of the age, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00PM. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the CHURCH.
