Ingrid Ingeburg Wenninger, age 84, of Sheboygan passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center.
She was born on January 1, 1942, in Ansbach, Germany to the late Joseph and Inge (Dinkel) Huber. After her education in Germany, Ingrid married Jerome Wenninger and the two moved to the United States. The two traveled to many countries and lived in Bangor, Maine for 20 years before relocating to their home in Sheboygan. Ingrid loved working at Kohler Company in the administrative office for many years, where she formed many friendships. She was a proud member of the VFW Auxiliary 1230, serving as the treasurer for 15 years and as the head chef on fish fry Fridays. She was also a member of Plymouth World’s Cheese Center VFW 5612. Ingrid also proudly served on the Sheboygan City Council for 4 years.
Ingrid believed in helping others both financially and with gifts. She was an animal lover and enjoyed bringing food to the local shelters and assisting in medical expenses for the animals. She worked tirelessly for veterans in need and had a heart of gold. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Carl (Lori), Debora (Frank), Cevin and Jerome (Kaya); 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A Memorial Mass for Ingrid will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave. in Sheboygan. Family will greet visitors at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the mass. Ingrid will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan.
