Harold O. Kammerer, 91, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Harold was born March 23, 1927 in Elkhart Lake to Martin and Esther (Klug) Kammerer. He was a graduate of Elkhart Lake High School Class of 1945.
On August 27, 1949 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Delores Gierke at Immanuel UCC in the Town of Herman. Harold ran the family dairy farm for 45 years before going to work for Kohler as the first of three generations to work in the Brass Building.
Harold was a member of Grace UCC in Kohler, he enjoyed listening to polka music and dancing with Delores. Together they played Sheepshead, gardened, traveled, and looked forward to spending a week at the Sheboygan County Fair. Harold also liked to play "The Marble Game", hunt. fish, and was a talented wood carver. His family was his pride and joy, the great-grandkids always made his face light up when they came to visit. Creating memories with his family was a top priority for him.
Harold is survived by his son Chuck Kammerer of Chilton, daughter-in-law Kaye Kammerer of Sheboygan Falls, grandchildren; Brett (Emily) Kammerer, Eric Kammerer, David (Claire) Kammerer, and Tina (Dewey) Doucet, great-grandchildren; Devin Honshul, Erin and Shelby Brever, Bentley Kammerer, Hunter and Orion Kammerer, Leo and Hazel Kammerer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores, son Richard, daughter-in-law Joan, sister Valetta (Jerome) Hoehne, his twin sister Harriet (Harvey) Meyer, and sisters-in-law; Elvera Gierke, Jeanette (Edgar) Bunge, Alice (Walter) Wickesberg, and Ellen (LeRoy) Sixel.
A Celebration of Harolds Life will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Zimmer-Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton RD., Sheboygan, with Rev. Beth Petzke officiating. Inurnment will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
A memorial fund will be established in Harold's name.
