Margaret Yurk, 100, of Sheboygan, entered eternal life peacefully Monday, March 7, 2016 at Meadowview Manor surrounded by her loving family and caring staff. Margaret was born March 6, 1916, in Dane County, to her Norwegian immigrant parents, the late John and Caroline (Everson) Mell. She graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1934. On May 3, 1941, she married Henry C. Yurk at the St. Pauls Parsonage in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1984. Margaret was employed by Wigwam Mills as a mender. She worked for 30 years before retiring at age 77. She was very active at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, where she was a member. In her retirement years, Margaret traveled the United States and Europe extensively and enjoyed dancing with her special friend, Al Niesing.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy M. Yurk, Sheboygan and Phyllis L. (Joe) DeLorme, Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Matthew (Allison) DeLorme, Burlington and Katie DeLorme (fianc Eric Rooker) Sheboygan; one sister, Bonnebelle Plumb, Shawano. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Henry, she was preceded in death by one infant son and one sister, Ingeborg Helena Meyer.

A funeral service for Margaret will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Zimmers Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 JJ, Howards Grove) with the Rev. Alan Kretschmar officiating. Friends may call on Friday, at the funeral home, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Committal services will be held on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park (6706 Superior Avenue, Kohler). Please visit www.zimmerfuneralhome.com to sign the guestbook.
