Gerald Voss

Gerald R. Voss of rural Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the age of 83.

Gerald was born in the Town of Herman on March 5th, 1935, Son of the late Edward Voss and Viola (Prange) Voss. He attended school at Green Bay Road School in Edwards. Gerald served his country in the United States Army.

On June 25, 1955 he married the love of his life Grace Dickmann at Saron United Church of Christ.

Gerald was a hard worker his entire life. While employed at Kohler Co for 42 years, he also hauled milk, farmed, trapped and worked in construction. In retirement, he worked at Roehrborn Farms in rural Plymouth.

He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ - Schwarzwald. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing at their cabin in northern Wisconsin, snowmobiling, trapshooting, dog sitting for the family pets, playing cards, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Gerald is survived by his five children, LuAnne (Steve) Kestell, Elkhart Lake, Sandy (Mark) Arnhoelter, Valders, Jack (Michelle) Voss, Cleveland, Shirley (Steve) Voss, Kiel and Russell (Laura) Voss, Plymouth. He is survived by seven grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica) Kestell, Benjamin Kestell, Travis (Tracy) Kestell, Bradley (Emily) Groh, Nicholas (Elaine) Groh, Tanner Voss and Hunter Voss; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters, Vernetta Grunwald, Sally Nohl, Bertha (Richard) Hiebing, Loraine (Harvey) Schnell, Linda Reichert, Judy (Jim) Madson; two brothers Edward (Melba) Voss, Elroy (Marilyn) Voss; sister-in-law, Alice Kimme; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife Grace, he is further preceded in death by his mother and father Viola and Edward Voss Sr., father-in-law and mother-in-law, Milton and Gladys Dickmann, sisters, Connie Perronne, Evelyn Toedter, Lucille Mehre and brother Eugene Kimme, brothers-in-law, Roland Nohl, Jan Mehre, Elgert Toedter, Clarence Reichert, Harold Grunwald, Emil Perronne, Milton Dickmann, Jr.

A funeral service for Gerald will be held Monday May 14th, 2018 at 6:30 P.M. at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road (Hwy 42 and Cty JJ). Reverend DuWayne Hanke will officiate. Interment will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. at St. John Cemetery, Schwarzwald. Friends may call on the family on Monday from 3 P.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Gerald R. Voss.
