Evangelina "Angie" Schelk

Evangelina “Angie” Schelk, age 90, of Howards Grove and formerly of Underhill, WI passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023.

She was born in San Antonio, TX on September 4, 1933, to the late Juan and Guadalupe (Maroquin) Silva. Angie was united in marriage to Vernon Schelk on March 18, 1962, in San Antonio. They were together for 53 years when Vernon passed away on June 5, 2015. She was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church.

Angie enjoyed reading, cross stitching, bird watching and cooking. Taking care of her children and watching her grandchildren grow filled her heart with so much joy. She will be missed by all who knew her.  

Angie is survived by her children, John (Shelly Nigro-Struve) Schelk, Eva (Dale) Weimann and Andrew (Renee Reimer) Schelk; grandchildren, Marshall Fox, Walker (Melanie) Forton, Megan (Jamey) Goetsch, and Erin (Reid) Yinko; great-grandchildren, Noah, Rayn, Ashton, Evelyn and Rhett; sister-in-law Donna Mae Schelk; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Angie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hailey; daughter-in-law, Karen Schelk; siblings, Sandra (Sal) Gomez, Sophie (David) Shives, Janie DeLeon and Pete Silva.

A Funeral Service for Angie will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Ballhorn Chapels, 1201 N 8^th St. in Sheboygan with Pastor John Laatsch officiating. Family will greet visitors on Saturday at Ballhorn Chapels from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Garden Park in Kohler.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Angie’s name.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at both Aurora Medical Center and Rocky Knoll Health Care Center for the amazing care given to Angie. They would also like to thank Donna Mae for the daily conversations and support along with Pastor John Laatsch for the numerous visits with Angie at her home in Underhill and most recently his trips to Sheboygan.
