Esther Vorath

Esther (Herman) Vorath, age 98 of Sheboygan passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Sheboygan Senior Community. Esther was born on April 20, 1918 in Adell, WI to Gottlieb and Amalia (Niesing) Herman. She graduated from Sheboygan High School. She was united in marriage to Peter Vorath in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Esther worked for Miesfeld's Triangle Meat Market Inc. for over 20 years. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. Esther is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen (Robert) Slavens of Waukesha; 2 cherished grandchildren, Robert (Anne) Slavens and Jennifer (Brett) Leeson; and 1 treasured great granddaughter, Amalia Slavens. She is further survived by loved nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Peter; and her 2 siblings, Walter (Eunice) Herman and Marie (Walter) Beckley. Funeral Service for Esther will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. NOON at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (1614 South 23rd Street Sheboygan 53081) with Pastor Christian Gugel officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m.-12:00p.m. Interment in Lutheran Cemetery, Sheboygan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are greatly appreciated.
