Elsie Wisnowski

May 10, 1931 — October 9, 2025

Sheboygan

After living a long and blessed life, full of family and friends, filling hearts with love and joy, Elsie Grobman Wisnowski (nee Meister) was called to her eternal home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 9, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born on May 10, 1931, in Karolinof, Poland to Berta (nee Drachenberg) and August Meister, she carried with her the strength and resilience of her early roots throughout her long and vibrant life. Elsie arrived in America on September 18, 1956. She became a naturalized citizen on December 2, 1969. On October 12, 1957, Elsie married William (Bill) Grobman at St Paul Lutheran Church, and together they had two children: Thomas and Elizabeth. Having a family was Elsie’s glory, and her children were her pride and joy. Bill passed away on November 9, 1984. Elsie later married Raymond (Ray) Wisnowski on September 20, 1986, filling her heart with more joy, and expanding her family even more by bringing into her life four step-children and their families. Elsie was also blessed to have many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In 1957, Elsie became a devoted member of St Paul Lutheran Church, where she found her spiritual community and purpose for over six decades. Elsie participated in Ladies Aid, dartball, sewing and quilting groups, easter breakfast, and volunteered for numerous church activities for many years. Elsie also sang joyfully in the Concordia Choir, sharing her love of music and fellowship. She was a proud American with a deep appreciation for her German heritage. Elsie was a member of the D.A.N.K (Deutsche Amerikanischer National Kongress), where she celebrated and preserved her cultural roots.

Elsie dedicated more than 60 years to her work as an Avon Representative- a career that reflected not only her entrepreneurial spirit but also her deep love for connecting with others. Through countless visits and conversations, she built lasting relationships and brought joy to many homes and hearts across the area.

Her passions extended far beyond her professional life. Elsie found great happiness in gardening, nurturing beauty and sustenance from the earth with great care and patience. She was known for her generous heart and willingness to help others whenever she could. Anything bright and full of color and life drew her in- whether it was a blooming flowerbed or a cheerful piece of décor, or clothing-mirroring the warmth and vibrancy she brought into the lives of those around her.

Elsie is survived by her son, Thomas (Marla Meier) Grobman, her stepchildren Barbara Maigatter, Donald Wisnowski, Sue Becker, and Jim Wisnowski; son-in-law John (Cheryl)Schroeder; her grandchildren Abigail Daane, Dylan Schroeder, Tania Grobman, TJ Grobman, Megan Neese, Alicia Franck, Derek Becker, Kelly Berdyck, Jeff Shimek, Steve Shimek, Shane Wisnowski, Stephen Wisnowski, David Wisnowski, and James Wisnowski; and cousins Karl and Eveline Mlotek. She is further survived by her special friends Hildegard Koepke and Julie Grobman.

Elsie is preceded in death by her husband’s William (Bill) and Raymond, her daughter Elizabeth Schroeder, her grandchild Sharon Wisnowski, her parents, her sister, her brother, and her step son-in-law Bill Becker.
