Edith Ann Plocar, age 88, of Howards Grove, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 3,2024, at Harvest Home Assisted Living.
Edith was born on April 7,1936 to the late Victor and Marie Heidenreiter. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. She was a 1954 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High and a 1957 graduate of Milwaukee Hospital School of Nursing. On April 12,1958 she was united in marriage to Ronald Plocar who left her on December 20,2023. Together they raised 4 children.
She was proud of her nursing career and all the lives she touched whether they be co-workers or patients. Edith was an avid Packer and Badger fan. She loved to read, travel, listen to music, dance and to spend time with her family at the cottage. She worked at Memorial Hospital and Sunny Ridge. In retirement they traveled extensively with their fifth wheel in the U.S., Alaska, Canada, and spending the last several years in Casa Grande, AZ. Edith’s children and families were a blessing to her and loved dearly. Edith was also a very faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howard Grove.
Edith is survived by her children, Lois Plocar, Scott (Linda) Plocar, Mark (Karen) Plocar and Kris (Larry) Bender; grandchildren, Travis (Alicia) Plocar, Levi (Nicole) Bender, Nicholas Plocar, Benjamin (Abbey) Plocar, Danielle (Matt) Pahmeier, Jonathan (Aly) Plocar; great-grandchildren Maverick, Parker, Mattie, Oaklynn, Evan, Annalise, Brynn, Connor, Leona, Frankie, Vera, Mason, Noah, Lincoln, Harrison, Ruby and Beckham and many other relatives and friends.
Along with her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Germaine (James) Doro; in-laws, Frank (Emily) Plocar, brother-in-law, John (Margaret) Plocar and also nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Edith will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, W2776 WI-32 in Howards Grove, with Pastor Noah Fremer officiating. Family will greet visitors on Wednesday at church from NOON until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Edith’s name can be made to either Trinity Lutheran Church, W2776 WI-32 Howards Grove, WI or to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, W2850 St Rd 28 Sheboygan Falls.
The family would like to thank the staff at both Harvest Home Assisted Living and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and comfort shown to Edith.
