Dr. Schwensow

Dr. Gary R. Schwensow passed through Heaven's gates on March 8, 2018 with his family in his heart.
Gary was born March 21, 1938 in Milwaukee, the son of Raymond and Viola (nee Uthke) Schwensow. He served in the United States Navy from 1965 -1968. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1966 from Marquette University and was then deployed to Vietnam from 1967- 1968 ranking as a Lieutenant.

Upon returning from Vietnam, "Dr. Gary" established his private dental practice in Sheboygan. He found great fulfillment in the art of dentistry within this community until his retirement in 2013. He thought of his patients as his extended family. On October 18, 1969, he married his sweetheart Lynn Stanskas at First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.

Our family wishes that you, in memory of Gary, take time to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets, smell the flowers, watch the birds and feel the grass between your toes. We wish that you embrace the time you have with your family and keep close to your heart all the wonderful times we've shared with you.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Lynn and their children: Jill (Lindsey) Bailey of St. Joseph, MO, Deborah (Jon) Buteyn of Plymouth, Stewart (Amara) Honeck of Gatlinburg, TN, Nicole (Paul Bartnicki) Schwensow of Denver, CO and Teri-Ann Schwensow (Rick Eckert) of Reno, NV. He is further survived by10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive visitors from 1:00 - 3:45 PM on Tuesday March 13, 2018 at the Elks Lodge #299, 1943 Erie Avenue in Sheboygan. Pastor Todd Smith will officiate A Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3:45 PM with full military honors to follow.

In lieu of flowers, Gary and his family wish your memorials to be received at First United Lutheran Church or Sharon S. Richardson Hospice or the charity of your choice.
