Dorothy Regutis

Dorothy M. Regutis, 96, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Meadowview Manor. Dorothy was born July 1, 1919, in Sheboygan, to the late Herman and Norma (Braun) Taubenheim. She attended the Sheridan Elementary School. On June 12, 1937, she was united in marriage to Peter Regutis. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1988.

Dorothy was employed by Pranges for 25 years, where she worked as a waitress. She was also a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Parish and volunteer at St. Nicholas Hospital. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards with her relatives and going on trips with her friends.

Dorothy is survived by her sisters-in-law, Agnes and Dorothy, nieces, nephews and many friends, especially "the Prange girls" and Brenda.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, an infant son and Peter, Jr., two brothers, Reuben and Harvey Taubenheim and two sisters, Margaret Gill and Sylvia Kersten. She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish (1305 Humboldt Ave, Sheboygan). Friends may call on Monday, at the church, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Meadowview Manor for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank Harriett for watching her back. Lastly, a special recognition is extended to St. Nicholas Hospice for her loving care.
