Dexter Porter

Dexter Porter,78, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2023. He was born on May 19, 1945 to the late Sylvester and Kathryn (Peterman) Porter. He was a graduate of Bonduel High School and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

He married Jean Bursack on August 28, 1976 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Dexter retired from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service as a soil conservationist, and continued conservation projects until the very end.  

Dexter was an active church member and participated in various church activities.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, birding, wood working, fly tying, gardening, pistol/rifle shooting. But most importantly Dexter loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dexter is survived by his loving wife Jean Porter; children Matthew (Nikki) Porter and Melissa (Jon) Witkowski; four grandchildren Peyton, Hunter, Sawyer and Lincoln; one brother Terry (Sandra) Porter; two sisters Jane (Randy) Dickelman and Joan (Bob) Priem; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; nephew and great-nephew.

A funeral service for Dexter will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 11:30 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 441 Millersville Ave, Howards Grove, WI 53083. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the CHURCH. The burial will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, County Road C, Advance, WI 54111. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dexter’s memory can be made to Maywood Environmental Park or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Howards Grove.
