Carol M. Eckardt passed away peacefully at the age of 87, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. She lived at Bay of Elkhart Lake for 9 years and previously resided at Sheboygan Senior Community.
She was born Aug. 23, 1938 in Sheboygan to the late Edwin and Alice (Clavers) Bahlow. She attended grade school at Weeden Station and also graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1957. Carol was married to Alfred Eckardt Jr. on Oct. 21, 1961 and they farmed in the township of Meeme from 1961 until Alfred’s passing in Jan. 1986. She moved to Howards Grove in June of 1987 and later took care of her grandson, Alfred.
Carol enjoyed fishing, embroidery work, playing cards with family and friends, reading books, crossword puzzles, and liked watching Badger football and the Green Bay Packers. Above all, Carol loved watching her grandsons many sporting events. She will be deeply missed.
Carol was a faithful member of Bethel UCC of Ada, where she served on the consistory, and was on many other committees. She was also a member of the women’s group called the Gospels Gals. Carol was a past member of the Farm Bureau Board of Directors and was named women of the year.
Carol is survived by her children, Robert (Lisa) Eckardt and Karen Regan; grandchildren, Adam (Stephanie), Brandon (Jamie) and Alfred; great-grandchildren, TJ, Fischer, Lily and Lennex; a sister, Joyce Loy and a nephew, James Shird; other family and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by a brother in-law, Peter Loy.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Bethel UCC., W4225 Cty Line Rd in Elkhart Lake, with Pastor Diane Cayemberg officiating. Family will greet visitors on Sunday, at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Carol will be laid to rest next to Alfred Jr. at the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name to Bethel UCC and Sheboygan Senior Community.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Sheboygan Senior Community for the excellent care given to Carol. They would also like thank both Pastor Diane and Rick Henschel for their many visits.
