Brian A. Post

Brian Allen Post, age 62, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son, was welcomed into the presence of Jesus on June 23, 2025, after living with early-onset dementia for several years.

Brian was born in Sheboygan on April 30, 1963, the third son of Dennis and Ruth (Herman) Post. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was raised in Sheboygan and learned the value of hard work and craftsmanship, helping his father and brothers build and renovate numerous homes throughout his upbringing. He later shared these invaluable skills with his own family. His strong work ethic led him to obtain his first job at age 15, working at McDonald’s, where he met the love of his life, Becki Niemann. He attended local schools and graduated in 1981 from Sheboygan South High School.

Brian attended Lakeshore Technical College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming and was a valued member of the inaugural class of this program. During these years he made several lifelong, treasured friends.

On June 4, 1983, he married his high school sweetheart, Becki, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Together they lovingly raised their children, Emily and Adam, in Howards Grove in a home that he built with his dad and brothers. He was such a proud and encouraging dad; he never missed a sporting event or musical performance. No dream of his children was ever too big. He always helped them achieve their ambitions with unwavering love and support.

Affectionately known as “Papa,” Brian was a caring and good-humored grandfather to his greatest joys—his grandchildren. He enjoyed many backyard wiffleball games, pitching his patented “Staten Island Sinker” and infamous “Spitball,” read many a favorite story, and loved giving shoulder rides.

During his working years, Brian began his career as a Computer Programmer at Thomas Industries. He then served in a variety of roles at Mayville Engineering Company, starting as a Computer Programmer and working his way up to Director of Business Services. He worked there with great dedication for 32 years until his illness led to an early retirement. He is known and remembered by his colleagues for his compassionate leadership, calm listening ear, wise advice, and generosity, no matter the need.

In his leisure time, Brian relished numerous fly-in fishing trips to Canada, where he came home with sore wrists from reeling in so many fish and many memories with close friends and family. He shared a love of running with his daughter and had a goal to run his first marathon by age 40, which he did, and then ran 4 more.

Brian loved to travel. He enjoyed trips up north, and to the East Coast, Aruba, and Mexico with his family. He also took several trips with Becki and friends to the Hawaiian Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Later in his life, his enjoyed weekly (or more!) scenic drives to get ice cream at a variety of ice cream shops (no shop was too far).

Brian was a faithful Christian and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls and was greatly blessed by The Gathering Place.

Brian is lovingly survived by his wife of 42 years, Becki, and his children Emily (Brian) Herzog and Adam (Erika) Post. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Drew, Aaron, and Carson Herzog and Esther, Honna, and Meera Post. He is further survived by his brothers Jim (Toni), Randy (René), and Carl along with his mother Ruth, mother-in-law Marlene Niemann, brother-in-law Phil (Carol) Niemann, sister-in-law Bobbi (Brent) Winebar, several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Dennis, father-in-law Carlos (“Cully”) Niemann and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the wonderful and compassionate staff at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice (especially Nurse Hope) and Dimensions Living (especially Marie), their St. Paul Church family, the Stonebridge neighbors, and many invaluable friends, especially Mark, Deb, Barb, and Lee.

A funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 730 County Hwy PPP in Sheboygan Falls, on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Kyle Backhaus officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Brian’s honor to The Gathering Place, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
