Anthony Jon “AJ” Conrad, age 34, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026, having passed away due to a sudden unexpected medical condition. He was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on February 16, 1991 to Ty and Constance (Rudie) Conrad. A graduate of Sheboygan North High School, AJ then went on to achieve his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
AJ was passionate about all things outdoors, especially fishing, camping and golfing. As part of his love for the outdoors he took up the hobby of photography, finding peace and relaxation while wandering the Arizona wilderness taking stunning landscape photos. His experience canoeing the Colorado river with friends was inspiration for some of his best photographs. He loved traveling throughout the world, having spent time in Bhutan, India, Belize, Mexico, Bahamas and many national parks within the United States and Puerto Rico. AJ deeply loved his dog Macy, she was his best friend, and they experienced life’s adventures together. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and enjoyed spending endless hours with his family. He especially cherished his most recent Canadian fishing trip with his dad, uncle Peter and cousin Peter Owen. His favorite place was at the family cabin up north, sitting around the campfire watching the night sky and talking.
While living in Arizona, AJ worked for The American Conservation Experience (ACE) and exceled in his various roles within the company. AJ was self-taught in coding and went on to work for Sub-Zero as an Engineering Technician, moving back to Madison to be closer to family.
AJ was always grateful for the love and encouragement of his family, friends and coworkers. Thank you for making his life so full. AJ will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. The things we will miss most about him are his deep love for family and friends, incredible wit and sense of humor, and his heartfelt laugh. The world could use more people like AJ.
AJ is survived by his parents Ty and Constance Conrad, sister Elizabeth Conrad (Harsh Pareek), and niece Serena Pareek. Serena is his goddaughter and was the light of his life. He is further survived by his godparents Jay Adams, Kim Goetz and Nicole Martin, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
AJ is preceded in death by his grandparents George and Helene Conrad and Norman and Charlotte Rudie.
A memorial service honoring AJ’s life will be held at Zimmer Westview Funeral Home, W2132 Garton Rd, Sheboygan, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Nicole Herda officiating.
