Obituary

Anna Lavern Hedstrom, age 99, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. She was born in the Town of Mosel on July 26, 1926 to the late John B. and Myra (Juckem) Mueller. On July 16, 1949, she married Arthur Hedstrom at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan.

Lavern was strong in her faith, and was an active member of St. Dominic Catholic Church for most of her life. She was a member of the St. Dominic’s Christian Mothers group, the Mosel Homemakers, and the 5 Corners Polka Dancing Club. She also loved planting flowers for all seasons in her garden, and arts and crafts projects. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her large family. Lavern’s family remembers fondly their Peshtigo trips and the up-north cabin. Although this was sometimes more work for mom and more fun for the younger members of the family, the time they spend together was cherished by all. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lavern is survived by her four children: Randy (Johanna) Hedstrom, Sharon (Jesse, Sr.) Long, Rachel Schneekloth, and Steve (Sue) Hedstrom; her grandchildren: Dr. Heidi (Gary) Bamford, April Maxey, Andrea Wodrich, Andrew (Ashley Jurk) Hedstrom, Jesse Long, Jr., Josh (Ruth) Long, Susan (Nicole) Brugger-Steinbach, Lisa Schneekloth, Pam (Jason Posthuma) Schuricht, and Sarah (Ken) Ringwell. She is further survived by her granddaughters-in-law Pam (Dave Scheurs) Schneekloth and Chasidy Long; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Lavern is preceded in death by her husband Arthur, her grandchildren Nathan Schneekloth, Jason Long, and Stephanie Hedstrom; her son-in-law George-Allen Schneekloth; her siblings Milton (Edith) Mueller and Bernice (Ray) Russart; her brothers-in-law William Hedstrom, Robert (Kay and Yvonne) Hedstrom, and Francis “Buddy” (Doris) Hedstrom; and her sisters-in-law Kathryn (Al) Janelle and Maggie (Ted) Parmentier.

The family would like to thank Randy, Johanna, and Andrea for the amazing care of mom, which allowed for her to stay in the home that dad built. Many thanks as well to Heather Raeder from Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Their kindness and compassion during a very difficult time will not be forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2133 N. 22nd St., Sheboygan, on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 12:00 p.m., with Father Dennis Beltre officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan immediately following services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
